I Am Marilyn

My journey with photography began during one of the most meaningful seasons of my life — pregnancy with my twins. I bought my first DSLR camera, excited to capture every moment with my baby girl and boy, Caidyn and Blake. But life had a different plan. I experienced an unexpected loss of both of my babies, and my world stopped. When I finally picked up that same camera again, it became more than just a tool — it became my therapy, my expression, my healing. I started taking photos of nature, learning to shoot in manual mode and soaking in every bit of knowledge I could. Aside from one college photography course, I’ve spent years teaching myself through reading, practice, and a whole lot of heart. Over the years, I’ve explored nearly every style of photography — family, maternity, birth, wedding, and commercial — but my greatest passion is children’s fine art portraiture. Each image I create is hand-edited with intention and emotion; my portraits are my canvas, and editing is my way of painting. My style is clean, classic, and timeless, with each whimsical image crafted to feel both emotive and enduring. You’ll often find me editing to Christian music, with scripture quietly embedded into every single piece I create — a gentle reminder of grace, love, and purpose. Today, my story has come full circle. I’m a proud mom to triplet girls, a labor and delivery nurse, and a published photographer.
